THe Celestial Lion

With a fixed gaze and a stoic face, a maned lion confidently marches forward. On his back is me. The stars in my eyes are significantly smaller than before, yet my expression remains sad.

This piece is about my confidence. Despite difficulties finding and keeping both romantic partners and friendships throughout my entire life, I have managed to build high self-esteem for myself. It is one of the traits I value the most. Without my love for myself, my journey to moving on and healing would be much more difficult.

The lion in this painting represents my pride, confidence, self-esteen carrying me forward.

Much different than the rest of the paintings, instead of a gaunt,
angular female figure, here is simply a Lion. But why a Lion? The answer is plainly because I love Lions. They have been my favorite animal for as long as I can remember, so naturally they appeared in my sketchbook. This evolved into designing my Celestial Lion, A green lion with a purple star-shaped mane and tail. For this piece, I combined two things I love dearly: my pride and my lions.
